How I Decided Where The Drums & Guitar Went

When listening to my music lyrics and trying to and edit produce my music video I found it hard were to decide which clip to put where, I initially gathered all my lip sinking of the lead sinking together and made the timing exactly right. I did this by changing the speed of clips and making them slower or faster to fit and match with the pre-recorded song I had placed onto IMovie. Then I decided to analysis my music lyrics a little bit more in depth, I did this by listening to the lyrics and deciding what instrument I could hear more in which part of the song. Once listening to my music I realised that the guitar was played all throughout the whole of the song, but stronger in some parts, that when I added guitar focused clips to my music video, I then did the same to the drum clips in the more drum played parts of the song, whilst also having clips of the singer singing the lyrics of the song, making a large variety of different shots this is how I decided what clip to put where. It made things a lot easier for me.

Vintage Mood Board

These are black & white images and old fashion images which I have used as inspiration for my digi pack ideas. Showing quirky everyday life images with settings and fashion images. I believe these images fulfil my brand image for the band and also highlight the lyrics of my song.

Settings/Locations

My settings for my music video is mainly a gig, therefore I filmed three times on three different stages. with shots at different angels of the band all being filmed on the main setting; a stage. The mise en scene for my music video is a live gig. Therefore I filmed the band Boots Book Lovers performing at a gig, in a club called: Stealth. Stealth is two different clubs in one place, Stealth and the other Rescue Rooms. This therefore made the place have many different rooms and stages. However my band were filming in 'Red Rooms' this room is one of the smallest, it has dancing floor, a bar, and a small stage. This stage shown in the picture above is where the band performed. This small stage highlights that they are a unsigned band preforming on a smaller stage, and they haven't quite made it to the top yet. (been signed)

In my video the prop of a sticker is shown on each band members trouser leg. It is only clearly visible on the main singers leg in my video. The sticker as a prop shows the audience that it is a gig the band are playing at because you have to have sticker to enter.

Process of editing

The process of editing was easy. I already learnt how to use the technologies used to make my music video during making my AS media it was a giant leap in new technology compared to GSCE. We were able to use more advanced software which were:

  • imovie (for the editing)
  • Garage band (for the making of the music)
  • The Camera ...
  • A tripod ( enabled me to use a variety of steady shots, although i didnt use many steady hand shots because i wanted to make the mise en scene of a gig, which a gig has a more rocky and hand held camera use to create realisum/the audience feel like their at the gig.
